چکیده
The utilisation of biochar, the carbon negative product pyrolysis, reduces footprint cementitious composites as it possesses potential to replace consumption Portland cement. In a systematic investigation, biochar was used partial cement replacement for up 20 wt% in both pastes and mortars. A comprehensive experimental framework conducted evaluate impact on performance (i) paste terms hydration kinetics, rheology, strength development, porosity, (ii) mortars mechanical, thermal, transport properties. addition, durability developed mortars, including freezing thawing resistance, thermal acid (corrosion) flammability, smoke production, were examined. results revealed that lower rates with (up 5 wt%) do not substantially change composites. However, incorporating higher dosages (i.e., influenced process, reduced flexural compressive strengths by 49% 29%, respectively, increased water absorption coefficient 60% compared control specimens. same mortar demonstrated most promising freeze-thaw 98% relative residual strength), resistance well considerably conductivity. regardless content, did exhibit flammability. Therefore, this study despite specific technical issues, can be successfully incorporated into high dosage composite an alternative binder minimum environmental impacts improve insulating

Experimental Study on Cementitious Composites Embedded with Organic Microcapsules
The recovery behavior for strength and impermeability of cementitious composites embedded with organic microcapsules was investigated in this study. Mortar specimens were formed by mixing the organic microcapsules and a catalyst with cement and sand. The mechanical behaviors of flexural and compression strength were tested. The results showed that strength could increase by up to nine percent w...
متن کاملBiochar: a synthesis of its agronomic impact beyond carbon sequestration.
Biochar has been heralded as an amendment to revitalize degraded soils, improve soil carbon sequestration, increase agronomic productivity, and enter into future carbon trading markets. However, scientific and economic technicalties may limit the ability of biochar to consistently deliver on these expectations. Past research has demonstrated that biochar is part of the black carbon continuum wi...
متن کاملSoil carbon sequestration and biochar as negative emission technologies.
Despite 20 years of effort to curb emissions, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions grew faster during the 2000s than in the 1990s, which presents a major challenge for meeting the international goal of limiting warming to <2 °C relative to the preindustrial era. Most recent scenarios from integrated assessment models require large-scale deployment of negative emissions technologies (NETs) to reach th...
متن کاملEngineered Cementitious Composites
This paper overviews Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) as an emerging construction material. Emphasis is placed on the accumulated knowledge on durability, safety, and sustainability of reinforced ECC (R/ECC) structures, recognizing that the concrete of the future must meet these characteristics. In light of recent and future full-scale field applications of ECC, the limited studies on l...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Amine-Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes’ Effect on the Thermomechanical Properties of CNT/Epoxy Nano-composites
This paper investigated the effect of the amine-functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the thermomechanical properties of CNT/epoxy nanocomposites. Mechanical stirring and ultra-sonication were utilized to uniformly disperse CNTs into the epoxy matrix. Non-functionalized and amine-functionalized CNTs with different weight percentages (wt. %) were mixed into the epoxy resin. Using standard te...
